La vie d'Adèle and Blue is the Warmest Color
Summary
Believe it or not, Le bleu est une couleur chaude was such a hit in France and around the world that it was adapted into a feature length movie! The plot of the movie is quite similar to the book (Adèle struggles to fit in amongst her high school friends until she meets Emma, a blue haired artist with whom she immediately falls in love). Forewarning: although the majority of the movie follows the plot of the graphic novel, the ending is entirely different, which may delight some readers while disappointing others.
Mini-Critique
Like the graphic novel, Le bleu est une couleur chaude is a highly acclaimed work, and is widely celebrated for its cinematography and acting. There is quite a bit of adult content (definitely more than in the graphic novel) that can become a bit monotonous at times, but still adds to the plot. I personally really love this movie; the acting is subtle and gritty, the characters are fully fleshed-out (often-times graphic novel adaptations can neglect the characters and their back stories), and there are plenty of heart-warming (and heart wrenching) moments! It is truly a wonderful rendering of the queer youth scene in France.

Like most French movies, Le bleu est une couleur chaude is available with English subtitles, which means that you can customize your difficulty level! Utilize the English subtitles to make the film easier to follow, or go without them in order to challenge yourself. The accents in the movie are not particularly difficult, but the actors do speak quite quickly, which can make listening comprehension difficult.
